Dear iThink users,
As previously announced on July 15, the Minekey board has decided to change the name of iThink to avoid the severe legal expenses we would assume from the law suit challenging our use of the name. Thanks to all of you for expressing your support, no matter which name we decide to use.
We investigated many alternative names associated with the words think, thought, express, opinion, view, chat, share, speak, say and variations of these words with alternate spellings in the English language and the same words in several other languages. Unfortunately, there is a lot of risk involved with these names, as most are already in use by other businesses or individuals. In order to avoid the registration expenses and litigation risks, our attorneys have recommended that we use the Company name "Minekey" itself as the name for the application. Therefore we have decided to change the name of the "iThink" application to "Minekey", starting next week.
Please note that we are only changing the name of the application. The user experience – the features, functions and design – will not be affected in any way. We will continue to use the same Favicon and Application images that you are familiar with, so finding Minekey (iThink) on your hi5 profile or in the App Directory should be easy. Once the change is made, any links or bookmarks that you have to iThink in hi5 or on your Profile will automatically be replaced by Minekey links and bookmarks. Your profile box, feeds, emails and notifications will continue to work as they have in the past, except that they will be named or received from Minekey rather than iThink – and you will always able to reach Minekey through these channels. Also, when you search the App Directory for Minekey you will be able to find it there as well.
I am confident that you’ll continue to enjoy the iThink experience with the Minekey name, and that the experience will even get better with the exciting new features we are soon to launch.
Happy iThinking … OOPS... I mean, happy Minekeying
Sincerely,
Alex Gault and the Minekey Team
